Together with the self-organised initiative Aυτοοργανωμένη Συνέλευση Κυπαρισσίας “Κατά Σαδδουκαίων”, we held an informative event on the right of conscientious objection not only in Greece, but also in war-zone areas where the right is challenged.
We had guest speakers who are conscientious objectors in Israel and in Ukraine, who shared the challenges they face as conscientious objectors, as well as the updates on the conflict situation. Later, the discussion moved on to the Greek reality, having a guest speaker from the Association of Greek Conscientious Objection.
The event’s last part was a discussion among the participants of the event, resulting in a fruitful exchange of perspectives and understanding of conscription and ways to resist.
