Being in a circumstance where the Ministry of Defence created a draft bill affecting conscription in ways that make deferment and exemption more challenging, the need for this event was stronger than the others. As a big percentage of Greek men in the last years (around 1 in 5) were getting medical exemptions for (claimed) psychological reasons, this bill wants to make this possibility more strict, driving a lot of young men who were considering this route into despair.
